Every day presents a new opportunity to grow stronger, eat healthier, live better, and become the best version of yourself.

Yoga, derived from Sanskrit, means to join or unite, symbolizing the union of a person’s body and consciousness. Practicing yoga asanas builds strength, flexibility, and confidence. Regular yoga practice can aid in weight loss, stress relief, immunity improvement, and maintaining a healthier lifestyle. It harmonizes physical and mental disciplines, promoting a peaceful body and mind while managing stress and anxiety. Yoga increases flexibility, muscle strength, and body tone, and enhances respiration, energy, and vitality. At IIT Bhilai, faculty and staff strive to foster a stress-free, peaceful campus community, encompassing all aspects of wellness: physical, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual. The institute actively conducts various wellness events and activities to support this

Incorporating "Essential Physical Activity", like a two-hour yoga and meditation session every morning, is crucial for enhancing overall health and well-being. Regular exercise can significantly reduce the risk of diseases such as type 2 diabetes, cancer, and cardiovascular conditions. The benefits of physical activity are both immediate and long-term, contributing to a higher quality of life. Even dedicating just 30 minutes a day to exercise can lead to substantial health improvements, making it an invaluable part of a daily routine. Embrace regular physical activity to enjoy a healthier, more vibrant life.

The annual intra-institute sports competition, Prayatna, which is Sanskrit for "effort," aims to instill a sense of sportsmanship among aspiring technocrats. The primary goal of this month-long tournament is to encourage students to engage in their favourite sports in a healthy way. This competition typically consists of a schedule of different sporting events incorporating the sports: Table tennis, Chess, Volleyball, Badminton, Football, Cricket, Yoga, Athletics. We are also planning to bring in new sports in this massive event. Prayatna 6.0 saw a massive 450 student turnout, this time we are expecting more than 600 students. We aspire to demonstrate through Prayatna the intricate role that sports play in daily life.

During National Sports Week, hosting events like Table Tennis, Chess, marathons, and fun activities such as tug of war is crucial for enriching campus life at IIT Bhilai. These activities not only promote physical fitness and mental agility but also provide a much-needed respite from academic pressures. They foster teamwork, strategic thinking, and community spirit, allowing students to build strong bonds and lifelong friendships. Such events are instrumental in developing well-rounded individuals, enhancing their confidence, and nurturing a balanced lifestyle. By participating in these diverse activities, students cultivate a lifelong appreciation for health, fitness, and holistic well-being.
